21 Weeks Already?!?

I can't believe how quickly time is going with the pregnancy. We are very excited to get our little one here. Lots has happened since my last post. The biggest news is that we are having a boy!! We are very excited to have a new little guy around the house. Ava was very excited to find out that baby was a brother, and she managed to yell on the walk home from the hospital, "I got a boy WOO HOO!!". She is going to be such an awesome big sister. I truly can't wait to get him hear just so that she can love all over him. Little guy is going to be named Leland Jack, Leland is for my grandfather and because we just loved the name. Ava now calls him Leland every night when he gets kisses. It's cute to me that they are already starting a relationship. She did already ask once though later the night we found out, "will it be a sister tomorrow?" We then had to explain that no he will be a boy forever. She has really though been pretty excited about it all.

Baby Leland!

Here is a shot of the belly that we took this weekend. Just before the end of week 20, this is pretty accurate to how I look now. He is sticking out there making sure that everyone knows he is here to stay!

First Day of Preschool
Ava has started Preschool and Dance!! So this has been a very exciting week at our house. She loves both, so that is great. She did really with with preschool, she would have walked herself there if I would have let her, but she was very good about just heading in and meeting her new classmates. It made me realize how grown up she is though. She really is getting to big! She isn't a baby anymore that is for sure. I'm just glad that we have awesome parents and family that will help us get her from point A to point B throughout the week. Without them our children wouldn't be able to do anything! After Papa Leigh picked her up this week from Preschool he asked her if she had a good day, she said "Yes! I didn't hit anyone and I didn't get in any fights"! She is her fathers daughter!

Ava Knocked Out!

I will try and keep up with more regular updates, we have just been so busy with bean and work, and chasing the boys with football! Here is to a great fall!

14 Weeks!

Weeks: 14 Weeks Today!

How big is baby: Baby is about the size of a lemon, about 3 1/2 inches and is weighing a whopping 1 1/2 Oz's.

Weight gain: nothing to significant yet. :)
Stretch marks: NO!
Maternity clothes: Certain clothes are starting to get tight, but as of right now I'm still wearing my everyday clothes.
Symptoms: Still having an aversion to meet and I'm still tired. Other than that I'm feeling great, and I'm just so happy that I don't have morning sickness this time.
Movement: Nothing yet, but we are anxiously awaiting some movement from little one!

What I miss: Nothing at this point, Eating meet I guess.
What I'm looking forward to: I am looking forward to my next appointment when I should be able to get my next ultrasound scheduled.

No pictures yet, but maybe next week. I am starting to get just a little bump, but I really look more like I ate one to many cheeseburgers. Ava is loving every minute of talking about being a big sister. She is constantly asking what is the baby doing now? Or when the baby gets here is it going to cry? She is also very interested in whether it's a girl baby or a boy baby. She doesn't quite understand how we don't know yet. Her innocence makes me smile.

Gary is now home from drill, we are so glad to have him home again. I missed having him there. That was the longest he has been gone since he was deployed and honestly I'm so glad that we are done with the Military. I am glad that he can be mine all the time, and I don't have to share him with the government any more!

A Family of Four

It is still strange to me that we are going to be a family of four. I am so excited about having this new little life, but it is still going to be an adjustment. I love that Ava is so excited about being a big sister. She has to kiss her baby brother/sister every night before she goes to bed and she has to make sure that she gives the baby lots of hugs throughout the day. She is growing up so fast, and she just amazes me every day.

The other night we were eating corn on the cob at my parents house and my mom had put the holders in the end of her corn so that she wouldn't burn her fingers. She started to try and eat when she stopped and asked my mom what those things were for. Grammie explained that they were there so that she didn't burn her fingers, she looked right at my mom and said as serious as could be, "Grammie I can't eat my corn under these conditions". Really?! You are 3! Her vocabulary just amazes me. She is so smart far beyond where she should be. She is so excited for preschool and I can't wait to send her. She is going to learn so much more and just continue to grow into this amazing child.

We have been spending a lot of time at the library. She loves going there and playing with the toys, doing crafts, and looking at all of the books. She loves that we get to pick out books to bring home and read together. She isn't really a big fan of having to take the books back to the library, she thinks that she should be able to keep them all since she picked them out to come home.

Gary has been gone with the Military for the last 2 and a half weeks, and we are so ready to get him home! We have missed him so much. This is the first time since his deployment that the has been gone for a long period of time, and Ava really is confused. She keeps asking if we are going to get to talk to daddy soon. She was happy to pull out her daddy doll so that she could be with him even though he wasn't here. It amazes me that she still remembers all of that!

Well that's the Methenys in a nutshell, look for more updates now that we have baby Metheny on the way!!

New Addition

So here we go.. :)

There are going to be lots of changes in the Metheny Household! Gary starts his new job on Monday, he will be working over her at State Farm with me in Kalamazoo. I am very excited to have him over here, and I know that he is excited to be starting. With that means that Ava bean is going to be in Daycare with Ms. Bernie now 5 days a week so that is going to be a lot of change for her. She is so used to her daddy days that I think she is really going to miss the time, but at the same time she is going to love having us both around during the weekends. I finally feel like we are going to be a normal family. We as normal as we can be, we are the Methenys after all.

The big news in the family currently is that Ava is going to be a big sister! We are expecting again and couldn't be more excited. I am over the moon with joy. Ava is so excited, and she wants to be a big sister so bad. She wants to help with everything. She already keeps telling me that she is going to help with baths and with feedings. I don't think she realizes all of the changes that a baby will entail, but she will be a good big sister, that I am sure of! We are currently being told that I'm due on January 31, 2013. I will have a doctor's appointment here soon, and should know more then.

So that's whats happening in the Metheny Family, so we should have more updates soon!

I'm Back!!

I have been on a blogging hiatus. Oops! :)

Uncle Spany, Ava, and Miss Kayla

Life has been busy, but I have lots to update on. Ava has been 100% better so that's a good thing, and it has made life 100% more relaxing. We have been chasing Spencer around watching him play baseball. It made me realize how much I truly miss watching baseball all summer long! Blake has is done with school for the year and is home so we have also been catching up with him.

So here is an update on the Metheny Family :)

Nothing really new is going on with me :) I'm just boring like that.

Beautiful Girl

Gary has been helping out around my dad's shop, and trying to keep himself  busy. He is the newest member of the Marshall Fire Dept on a paid on call Status, and He is also going to be starting a job at State Farm in Kalamzoo as a PIP claims processor. We are so very proud of Gary and all that he has done. It has been a very exciting last few weeks for him as he gets ready to start all of these new endeavors.

Ava is going to be 3 in less than a month and she is getting sassier by the day! She is the light of my life and I can't believe that she is going to be 3 already! It truly just seems like yesterday that I was having her! We are happy to have in our lives though and every day she is an adventure!

God Momma, Jordan, and Ava Bean

Yesterday we got to drive to Michigan City, IN and meet up with Ava God Momma and one of my closest friends, Kristi. It was so nice to catch up with her, and it made me realize how much I miss her! We also had the pleasure of meeting Baby Jordan, who is so stinkin' cute that I could hardly stand it. I guess that since I miss her so much and he is so cute we will just have to make a trip down to see them soon!

Baby Jordan and Ava Bean

Ava and her Cousins

Other than that we are just getting ready for a busy summer with Spencer graduating, Friends weddings, and some other very fun events with friends. We are just trying to enjoy this summer and see where life takes us. I promise not to stay on hiatus!! I am back blogging world!

Is it Possible?!?

I think we might finally be over all of the sickness in our house. Hurry knock on wood! Lets hope that this doesn't jinks us! I am just so glad that baby bean seems to be doing so much better, but I suppose that if I had a penny stuck in my throat and it was then removed I would probably feel better too. She is finally off of all of her medications, and is just doing breathing treatments when neccessary. She is breathing much better and isn't coughing too much at all anymore.

Ava and Uncle B!

Mom and Dad are off in the Dominican this week with Spencer for spring  break. So we had Sammy at our house all weekend. He was happy to be with us, but I think that Ava bean was driving him crazy and that he was ready to get back to my parents house last night. I think we will get him later this week for a little bit just so that he doesn't get too lonely.

Blake was around this weekend and spoiled Ava rotten, which is what uncles are for! Ava was excited to get to spend some time with him, and as you can see they really are like two peas in a pod!

Ava's hat that Uncle B put her name on

Gary had an interview this morning, so here is to hoping that something good is coming for him in the future!! Keep him in your thoughts and prayers!

I am getting geared up for this weekend, my good friend Jillian is going to be in town and we are throwing her a baby shower! I am so excited to see Jill and to see Baby Brewer :) Other than that, this weekend is just going to be Easter fun with mom and dad, and giving Ava some love from the Easter bunny. Hope that everyone has a good week!

Happy Easter!!

Again...

I feel like I am just always here writing about things that are going on with baby bean. It seems like she has been through the ringer this last few months, and she has honestly handled it all so well. She is my hero :)

Friday March 23rd, we took her back to the doctor because she was still coughing terribly, and she was complaining that her mouth hurt. She had been in to see a doctor the following Saturday for mouth complaints and a fever, they told us then and they didn't see anything and to just keep doing her breathing treatments. So here we are back again. Friday they found an ear infection, checked for strep which thankfully was negative. They decided to put her on steroids to try and get the inflammation in her lungs down. The PA that we saw on Friday wanted to have another x-ray done just to make sure that she didn't have anything else settled in her chest. Since haven't had one done since January, they were concerned about what might really be going on in there.

We took Ava to Oaklawn to have her looked at and she did such a good job. She sat still for her x-rays and she was just ready to be done with being at the doctor. We were going to have a low key afternoon just hanging out as a family. Then the radiology techs asked us to stick around for a little bit. That's when we knew that something was not right.

Waiting in the PICU
When they did the x-ray they found something that was lodged in beans esophagus. They weren't sure what was in there, but they knew that we needed to get it removed. They immediately sent us over to the pediatric unit at Bronson Hospital. They put her in the Pediatric ICU, immediately when we got there. In the beginning everything seemed to rushed, I think we were all a little panicked about what was really going on with bean. Once we got there, we were told that we were going to have to wait to actually start any procedures as Ava had eaten fruit snacks at 3:00. We spent hours trying to entertain her in the hospital room, all while she was begging for a snack. You know Ava!

Around 8:30 they came in and did a follow up x-ray. When she did this x-ray we were allowed to see the photo. It was so surreal to see the object stuck in her esophagus. She didn't really seem to be bothered by it at all, but it looked like a medallion just stuck right about clavicle level. They advised at that point that since it hadn't moved that we would have to give her an IV, put her to sleep, use the scope to remove the object, and then we would have to wake her up and get her to eat and drink before we would be able to head home.

At about 9pm we finally started the hardest part, the IV. Ava wanted nothing to do with the IV at all, she was miserable. They had us holding her down, while it took 2 nurses to get the IV in her poor little arm. I have never had to do something that hard in my life. It's just so hard to know that you are doing the right thing for them, even though they are looking at you like you are the worst person in the world.

Right after Surgery
We were anxiously awaiting some news in the waiting room when the doctor walked in about 20 minutes later with a PENNY in between his fingers! He told us that it would be most expensive penny we have ever seen. He said that they figure based on how tough it was to get out and how irritated her esophagus was that it had most likely been there for about a week at least. He said that there were no damages though and that she would be free to go once we got her to wake up and get something in her system. '

She is now just eating us out of house and home! :) She is doing much better, thankfully! We have just tried to tell her that she isn't a piggy bank, so she can't put her pennies in her mouth!

Thanks to all of our family and friends that had us in their prayers last Friday night, we appreciate you all more than you know.

until next time... :)

Could it be true? Is this Spring?

So it's finally starting to get nice here in the lovely state of Michigan. I find Spring to be almost humorous because it's as though people forgot what the sun looks like. As though they are discovering a whole new place around them. People are out walking around and kids are playing at the park. Gary has even been our mountain biking twice since Sunday! It's pretty amazing how much better you can feel once the sun starts peeking out. I am so much more motivated to get things done now that it doesn't get dark before I leave work. That is a MAJOR benefit to having daylight savings.

So Ava got to spend the night at Grammie and Papa's on Saturday night. She was in heaven, she got to play games with Uncle Spanky, and she got to have a "campout" with her Grammie, Papa, and Sammy too! She didn't even want to come home with Gary and I when we picked her up on Sunday. Sunday night we caught up with some friends, and on Friday night we even got to have a game night with Josh and Kelli. As you can imagine, game night was a riot.

This week has already been busy and it's just Tuesday! Gary had a test today in Anatomy, Ava has been playing hard a daycare, and I have just been working, but hey that's tough too! We are about half way through the week and before we know it March is going to be half over! Where has the time gone! I just can't believe how quickly this year is going. Ava is only a few months away from being 3.

Ava in her Snuggie!!
Well off to get the crazy kid in bed! She is a complete nut. She informed us tonight after she threw everything she owned all over the house that Papa and Spanky trashed our house. Already blaming things on someone else, oh man are we in for a treat once we hit the teenage years.

Yikes!

So I have fallen off the blogging wagon. I'm back :)

I know you were all missing me, ok maybe I just want to think you were.

Anyways! So lets see we had a busy week few last week! Gary and I went with my brothers and their friends to see Eric Church and Brantley Gilbert at Kellogg Arena on the 23rd . The concert was great and we had a lot of fun. Although Gary and I learned that we aren't quite as young as we used to be.

Kayla, Me, Spencer, Blake, Gary, and some
Blakes' buddies at the Concert.

In other news we had a surprise 50th birthday party on the following night for my parents, which went off without a hitch and was a blast. We really did surprise them, and I was surprise that we were able to it. We just had it at there house with mostly family, and even though it was just something small it was nice to feel like we were able to do something special for them. As you can see it went long into the night... and we have a very good time.

Dad, Blake, and I at the end of the night :)
Gary was away at drill this last weekend so Ava and I spent the weekend relaxing around the house and spending some quality mother daughter time. On Sunday we met mom and dad for breakfast and then went with mom to see the Lorax, it was Ava's first 3D movie, and she wasn't a big fan of the glasses. So she watched most of the movie blurry (to each their own!). She did so good again at the movies though. I'm so proud of her.

Ava in her 3D Glasses!

Gary had midterms this week and got an "A"!! I'm so proud of him, he is doing so well with school. I am glad that he is working towards something that he will truly enjoy. After everything, he deserves that! This weekend Gary is back to work and we are back to our everyday routine at least for a few more weeks until we come up with something else crazy! There is never a dull moment in the Metheny Household!
Oh Ava bean!

She's a Big Girl Now

So we have had an eventful week in the Metheny Household! We started on Monday night with baby bean getting her ear's pierced. She looks adorable with her Hello Kitty earrings :) She told me that she thinks that she is even more beautiful now. She also reminds me daily that we better clean her ear so that they don't get "fected", oh Ava. She negotiated getting her ear done by telling us that she is a big girl now, and that it was Valentines day the next day and she needed to get them done. She has us wrapped around her little finger that's for sure!

See the New Earrings!

On Tuesday we found out that Ava had the onset of Bronchitis, so on top of everything else we have been dealing with that now. She has another medicine that she is taking now as well as still doing her breathing treatments, which she calls her "dragon treatments" so named after the mask she wears while doing them. She is doing so good with taking all of her medications, which is a big deal as we started with a huge fear of medicine. She is also back to sleeping in her bed all night which is a huge relief for Mommy and Daddy, the whole family is happier now that we are all getting some sleep at night.

On Friday Ava and Gary had the daddy daughter dance. They had a blast getting dressed up, going to dinner, and to the dance. Before they left the house Gary let Ava choose where she wanted to go to dinner and the only place that she wanted to go was Denny's... for PANCAKES. Who's surprised?! That's what I thought, no one. I swear that girl eats more pancakes than anyone I have ever met. Well except possibly her father. At least she comes by it honestly.

We have another full week ahead, so here's to hoping for the best!

Daddys Little Girl

So Gary has said since the day that I found out I was pregnant that it didn't matter if we had a girl or a boy, they were going to love hockey. Now that being said I have never been a big hockey fan until I met Gary and he has done a great job of getting me to be a hockey fan. When he was deployed I even watched the red wings games at home by myself (shocking I know).

So I come home from work the other night Ava comes running into the kitchen dressed like this:

Ava in her Hockey Jersey <3

At this point it hits me that he was right, he was going to have a hockey fan no matter what. She will tell you too that she is going to play hockey like daddy. She also likes to grab Gary's shirt and tell him that she is going to hockey fight him. Which always makes me bust out laughing. Hopefully we can try and get her on skates soon, I think that she would really like to play.

On a different note, my cousin had her second surgery done on Wednesday and everything went well. She is still at Bronson, and can always use more prayers. She is going to have a long recovery ahead of her, but hopefully she can get home to her own house soon. I know that being in the hospital is no fun for anyone. They were able to get her chest tube out, so that a huge plus.

Spencer committed officially to Trine this week too. So it looks like come fall we will be watching both Olivet Football and Trine football. Fall is really going to be crazy around the Iobe house this year, but that's alright, at least we all love football!

Other than that it's been a pretty normal week around our house, Gary did well on his tests and now we are on to the weekend. Mom's birthday is this weekend so we are going to celebrate that and just enjoy having the weekend off work. Well, at least I am, Gary's heading back to the grind tomorrow.

On the Mend

So here in the Metheny Household we are now on the mend. Ava is doing much better, which is a great relief. We had a follow up appointment on Sunday and we were told that her lungs so sound a lot better, but still aren't up to par. She was told, to keep doing her breathing treatments, but that it isn't required every 3 hours like it has been. She should just be 100% here soon once she finishes up her antibiotics and her breathing treatments. I'm just glad that we are over this one.

Now that we are feeling much better though we are back to being our goofy self...

Green Faced Baby Bean

Gary had drill over the weekend, so that was nice because when he is home in the evenings I kinds of feel like things are normal, but tonight he will go back to working nights. We really need to find him a new job!

This weekend I was able to go up to the hospital and see my cousin, I haven't had time to write about this yet, so let me start at the beginning.

My cousin Jordan was in a very severe car accident on Thursday of last week. She has a broken elbow, broken pelvic bone and a collapsed lung. She is still in the hospital awaiting surgery on her arm, but she had had her lung somewhat repaired, and is hopefully also on the mend. At this point we are still waiting to hear more. I just hope that she get to eat something soon, and get home. Even if she is still recovering she will be a lot more comfortable once she gets home in her own environment.

Now on Sunday we go up to visit her, and I almost passed out in her room. I felt like the biggest idiot, but I told her worst case we could just share a room. Bottom line here though is that she could really use some prayers! So lets keep them coming people!

The Saga Continues...

Now Ava's Pneumonia is in both lungs :( Apparently the antibiotics weren't strong enough and it spread, we are going to have to start a new medicine tonight, which is going to be nice now since she will only have to take it once a day instead of 3 times. We also have to start breathing treatments to help clear her lungs, she will have to take those every 3 hours. She isn't a big fan of her breathing machine, but I think her dinosaur mask is pretty awesome.

Poor Baby Bean

So last tonight we spent the evening in the ER with Baby Bean. She was feeling miserable this week and weekend so we figured that we are should take her in just to make sure that she was ok. She is did so good once we got there. Two year olds don't like going to the doctor at all, but she did a good job of doing what they asked without having a complete meltdown.

Ava and Kitty in the ER

She ended up having to have chest x-rays to determine what was wrong with her. They did think that her ears looked red and that there was a possibility and she had a double ear infection. After looking at her x-rays they did determine that they think she had an acute pneumonia as well. Poor baby girl she just looked miserable. I felt horrible for her, but she did a good job of relaxing considering. :) She can always put a smile on my face.

Always Relaxing... :)

She is now taking Zyertc for her hives, Amoxicillin for the Pneumonia, and Tylenol for the fever. Bean doesn't like medicine, so poor thing is really sick of it now.

Here is to hoping that this week is better than last week! Gary has a test today, and I'm finally back at work, so hopefully we can get back into our normal routine and Ava bean can get back to normal! Poor baby girl!

Sad Day in the Metheny Household

Last night after daycare I noticed that Ava had a little rash. As the evening went on she became more and more miserable. Poor thing was covered in hives! I don't know what caused them because she wasn't around anything new, and she hasn't been allergic to anything before, I put some Benedryl cream on them and figured I would see how they were in the morning. Well they were still here this morning, if not a little worse.

So Ava got to take a trip to see her awesome PA Ms. Martha today to see what we could do to make the itching stop and to see what might be causing the hives. Well we aren't really sure what is causing the hives, but Ms. Martha did tell us to make sure that she got some liquid Benedryl, so we started giving her that. For anyone who knows Ava and her medicine tendencies we all know that Ava doesn't like taking them. This summer when my cousin Kristi was here with her she got stung by a bee near her eye and had to take Benedryl, and needless to day it was a mess! We ended up figuring out that the best option was to put it in her milk to make sure that she was getting it. Well today Ava saw me get the medicine out of the cabinet, and she immediately just told me that I better not be putting that in her milk. I knew that meant trouble. But in the end she took it just like a big girl, and then told me that it wasn't that bad! She is getting so big.

Tonight our hives seem better, but they are still bothering her a little bit, I'm really hoping that tomorrow is a better day for Baby Bean, there is nothing worse than having a sick baby at home.

Ava's Little Mind :)

I just love how perfect and innocent she is, that's really all this post is supposed to be about. :) She is so stinking cute. She always tells me how awesome her life is, which is always a perfect way to put a smile on my face. It's great to know that she is enjoying everyday.

You Just Have to Love That Face!!

Last night we celebrated Papa Iobe's birthday and as we were leaving the house she started to to freak out because she thought that I forgot Gary. I reminded her that Gary was at work and not just missing, she thought about this for a minute before she gave me permission to leave Grammie and Papa's house. She is just genuinely concerned about everyone else. There are some very awesome things about being a mother, but watching Ava grow into such a smart, amazing little girl just warms my heart every day.

Oh Monday...

Here we are again, Monday, we never meet on good terms.

This was a fun packed weekend for the Metheny family. We spent Friday evening just being bums, Saturday night Ava and I were able to go to dinner with my parents and my Aunt Kathy and Uncle Forest. It was nice to see them and to eat some yummy pizza. Sunday we celebrated my dad's birthday he is the big "50"! He actually isn't going to be 50 until Wednesday, but we celebrated Sunday since Blake was home. Mom made meatloaf and potato's. It was really delicious! She is such an awesome cook, she also made cake which Ava was convinced was for her, I think Ava is the only one in the world that Papa will willingly share his red cake with.

So for a quick look into the ridiculous that is my family, last night Gary got sent home from work early because Target is so slow right now (go shop at Target!!). He was working on his homework, so I told him that I was going to head in and lay down. Well we currently keep our Wii in our bedroom, and I have been trying to beat Zelda for the last two years... I know I'm slow, but I have a full time job and 2 year old, so I don't play very much. I decided that I was going to play last night. I was using my computer to look up with I was supposed to do next because honestly I was just getting annoyed that I couldn't figure it out without looking.

Gary always gives me a hard time about looking up games online, PLUS at this point Gary thinks that I'm actually in bed. So I hear him coming in to the room so I quickly exit out of the page that I was on and shut the computer, and continue playing, he walks in the room starts laughing and points out that he knew I was in there looking up the stuff. I'm telling you I can't hide anything from this guy... :) After I get over the fact that he is now going to make fun of me until the end of time, I continue to look up everything under the sun to help me beat that level. He will never let me live this one down :)

Happy Monday!

FRIDAY!!

It's finally Friday, and boy am I ready! I am going to spend the weekend with Ava Bean :) I need some Ava mommy time. Gary has to work all weekend, I know that he has to have a job, but seriously! I hate that we are on completely opposite schedules. I just keep telling myself that we are only doing this until he is done with school! Someday we will get weekends together!

We are sitting here awaiting what looks to be another fantastic snow storm, so it looks like we may be snowed in for most of the weekend. Ava really wants to make a snowman, and this might be our best chance this year, so I suppose we should try and do that this weekend. She loves the snow, and it absolutely amazes me that at 2 she doesn't realize the cold. We get out of the car and you would think it's 75 degrees! She just wants to run around a play in the snow and thinks its crazy that I want to go in the house. At least she keeps me on my toes, I never know what that girl is going to do next.

For example, after stumbling in our room in the middle of the night Ava crawls up in bed with us, then proceeds to wake up screaming about needing more popcorn. When I tell her that I'm not going to make popcorn, at 5:30, she tells me I can make it for breakfast and falls back asleep. I'm telling you she must get that from her dad... :)

Baby Bean is Tuckered Out

Thanks Mother Nature

So this morning we head out the door in the cold snowy weather all bundled up ready to take what the day is going to throw at us. Ava gives Daddy hugs tells him to have a good day at school and we proceed to head to Ms. Bernie's to drop Ava off. Ava was being a complete clown this morning on the way in, She started with asking me if I called Grammie to make sure that it was ok that she was going to Ms. Bernie's. I explained that yes it was ok. Then she was telling me that she was glad that she was going because she knows how much Ms. Bernie missed her. Oh Ava, always thinks its all about her!

The best was when we were driving slowly on the highway, she asked me why I was driving so slowly this morning. I explained that I was driving slow because it was snowy and icy. She asked who made the snow and ice come and I said that would just be Mother Nature. She yells from the backseat, thanks mother nature, now I going to be late to Ms. Bernie's!

She just absolutely cracks me up! Well we got her dropped off, and then Bri and I were finally able to head into work. Thank goodness we made it here in one piece, now I just need to get home in once piece then it's 1 day until the weekend. I need another cup of coffee...

Afternoon Pick Me Up

Nothing Like an Afternoon Cup of Coffee

I have to get up and function today?!

This is how our household feels today

We all started to get head colds right after Christmas. Just after I finally thought that we were all getting over our colds, we are starting them all over again! It seems like we were just doing this! I hate that head colds don't seem to ever really go away. They are just like a vicious cycle in our house. We are all dragging and cranky, but at least we only the only ones that have to put up with us.

On a better note, Gary survived his first day at school! Now that the ball is rolling we just have to make sure that we keep up this momentum. Ava has almost made it through a whole week of daycare and loving every minute of it. I am just so relieved that this week has gone smoothly, Ava is so used to being at home with Daddy that I wasn't sure how this would go.

Here is to hoping that our head colds heal and we can get back to normal. Well lets be honest our family is anything but normal, but that is what makes us exciting.

First Day of School!

This has been a week of firsts!

Yesterday was Ava's first day at her new daycare and when I asked her how her day was her response, "Daycare is Awesome"! I'm just glad that I can go to work knowing that she is in a safe and happy place, it makes me feel better about everything during the day. She seems to love Ms. Bernie, and I am sure that things can only get better.

Today is Gary's first day back to school since Ferris! He is tackling an Math class and an Anatomy class, and I feel like a proud mother today. I can't even express how excited I am for him, and how proud I am of him for following his dreams. He is going back to school with the hopes of being able to get into nursing school. I think that he is going to rock it, and I can't wait to see how this adventure goes.

For me... well I'm just living the dream :)

Welcome to the Metheny Chronicals!

Well here goes nothing, I have blogged for years, sometimes it was to just journal and clear my head. Other times I would blog to just get my thoughts and ideas out there, but in the last few months I have decided that I really wanted to start blogging more seriously. I have tried to revamp one of my older blogs, but just decided that it would be better if I just start new.

This is going to be a quick way to keep up with the Methenys! :)

I will do my best to let everyone know the happenings in our lives as well as the tales of the humorous things that Baby Bean does. We all know that she can provide great entertainment. If nothing else this will be a fantastic way to document the days. History is always entertaining, and to have these to go back to watch our lives unfold will be a gem. So here goes nothing....
